Haha this was a powermove. It is genuinely great that since it’s just a file you can host it anywhere you want. S3, WebDAV, your own site. I personally use copyparty and WireGuard for my kdbx file. I find it better than syncthing because there’s an obvious master copy (edited in place), and there’s no good way to keep syncthing running all the time on iOS, which can lead to sync conflicts.

A few years ago I switched from KeePass, with the database stored in Dropbox, to a SaaS password manager. My primary reasons where:- No more sync conflicts when using multiple devices- Backups are taken care off- It's harder to steal the database- Slightly better browser and mobile extensions for auto-filling passwords

Is this more than just documented use of PKCS12? Maybe the flimflam around that PKCS12 matters more than I realized. JSON is at least modern(ish)I would hope this means I can stop worrying where I make pass keys, and instead worry about syncing my bitwarden states properly but it looks like it may be app specific: need to make them on the app, in order to have them on the macbook. (maybe I misread things)
